Geschichte des Kapitalismus
History of Capitalism
After the collapse of the Soviet Union at the latest, capitalism had defeated its last systemic rival and set out to conquer the entire world. The states and societies of the “West”, which primarily stood for this capitalism, were all too happy to position themselves as the winners in this competition. In the meantime, this image is becoming increasingly flawed, with the social and ecological costs of this way of life leading to massive criticism. In this seminar, we will attempt to take a look at the thoroughly convoluted paths of the emergence and development of “capitalism”. Beginning with the early forms of capitalist economy in Northern Italy, the Netherlands and England, through the globalisation of trade as a result of colonialism, the industrial capitalism of the 18th and 19th centuries to the current financial market capitalism, the history will be critically examined.

Was muss ich mitbringen?
Vortrag, Diskussion, Wissenstransfer
