“Domestic Violence — It Concerns Us All. But How Can Domestic Violence Be Dealt With in a Professional Setting?”
This course examines the topic of "domestic violence" on various levels. It explores where domestic violence occurs, how it can be detected, and what possibilities exist to sensitise oneself and others to it and to deal with it in a professional setting.
The course participants decide whether they want to focus on the health sector, the social sector, the police, or the justice system. Financing also plays a major role, making this course relevant to all UW/H students.
Dr. Andrea Schlicker
Participation modalities
Full (100%!) attendance is compulsory. Please check the dates and times of the seminar and only register if you can guarantee your attendance.
Each session is compulsory in its entirety. I expect full attendance. If you are unable or unwilling to attend all sessions, or if other commitments prevent you from doing so, I would ask you
not to register for the seminar, so as to give others the chance to take part.
I would like to see:
Willingness to engage with this sensitive topic.
Willingness to make an effort to question common patterns – including your own.
Courage to "see" situations and react to them.
Openness to work on your own defense mechanisms and patterns of thought and action.
