Entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneurship Compact Course is organised into two parts.
Part A covers the basics. This section is delivered in a lecture format and provides an overview of the relevant questions and theoretical foundations of entrepreneurship. Special emphasis is placed on:
- innovation
- business models
- business plans
- entrepreneurial teams and personalities
- start-up financing
- pitches
This interactive lecture format places great importance on active student participation and joint discussions.
Part B – Build Your Own Startup: The second part involves practical implementation through interactive group work. Working in small groups and with the support of the lecturer, participants will develop a business idea, create a business model and document it in a short business plan. Finally, they will present their idea in a pitch to all course participants and a jury of experts. The best pitch will be honoured.

Objectives & Competences
The students...
... receive an introduction and an overview of the theoretical basics of entrepreneurship and university spin-offs
... are sensitised to starting a business as a real option after graduation and gain a realistic insight into the start-up scene through the lecturer's practical examples
... develop a business idea and use it as a blueprint to plan a potential business start-up from the scratch. Starting from an idea, they learn to form a suitable team, to transform the idea or innovation into a viable business model, to present the concept in a business plan and finally to present their idea to an audience in an appropriate manner.
In addition to the core topic, the practical part is also intended to teach and deepen key qualifications for other scenarios in later professional life (networked and interdisciplinary thinking, presentation training, team composition, motivation and leadership, inspiring others for a project).
