From the Black Forest Clinic to Grey’s Anatomy - Digital Healthcare Worlds Put to the Test
Prof. Dr. Theresa Sophie Busse
This course is dedicated to critically examining the portrayal of digital health technologies in health-related television series. Using episodes selected by participants, we analyze how telemedicine, AI in diagnostics, electronic patient data, and other topics are presented in the media. The goal is to compare media narratives with the reality of digital healthcare and reflect critically on them. In the first session, we will collect series together. A small group of students will take responsibility for one series and use ChatGPT to select a suitable episode. In the following sessions, one episode of the series will be watched together. The small group will then give a short presentation based on a given structure, which will form the basis for a joint discussion. The presentation will examine how aspects of digital healthcare are portrayed.
