It's starting. Now. Move forward, go ahead. Kreuzberg nights are notoriously long, and the morning after as well. And the sun is shining. It's time to set off. To new shores. Travel, dream, love. What does a carefree mood say about everyday life? How can literary high vibrations be transformed into social sustainability and carried beyond one's own bubble? – Utopian poems slip out, hymns to the night write themselves, travelogues become conversational, cool pick-up lines are cast into verse, confessions of a voyeur sneak into a diary. – And all of it self-written! After all, anyone can write. Since first grade. But here just texts. Short texts that make your heart beat faster, that don't just accept language, but shape it, work with it and elaborate on it, refine it and put it in the service of sophisticated literary explorations of love and related themes. For example, "speculative" translations of Icelandic love poems, dramatic adaptations of love stories, SMS poetry, literary allusions to music, texts composed of fragments, and lyrics from chats. The literary texts created during this seminar will be presented publicly at the end of the semester: in the form of a booklet and at a reading on Tuesday, January 19, 2027, at a location in Witten yet to be determined, one that reflects a commitment to social engagement.

Ulrich Land is a radio play author, also writes novels, poems, stories and radio programs, has published several books on creative writing and has been conducting related seminars at the University of Witten/Herdecke since 2005.
