„Wie wir uns begegnen…“ – Sozialer Zusammenhalt in der Wittener Migrationsgesellschaft
“How We Meet…” – Social Cohesion in Witten’s Migration Society
In this project, which is based on the approach of “community-based research”, encounters between people with different backgrounds and histories, between academia and practice, between students and Witten’s civil society are made possible in 4 salons that take place in public. Together they will explore which questions, topics, needs and encounters characterise Witten as a migration society. Questions about cross-group friendships beyond stereotypes, barriers to understanding, the role of social structures, culture and language or participation can be discussed in the salons. There, the students become field researchers who finally make their results available to the community: What topics move the diverse community and how can they be addressed in future exchanges?
