Jazz, Pop & Improvisation
This seminar offers participants the opportunity to engage deeply with the core aspects of musical creation: improvisation, communication, and composition. The course is open to musicians of all styles and instruments, as well as vocalists. No prior experience in improvisation or composition is required; both beginners and advanced participants will find suitable challenges and opportunities here.
The focus is on exploring and developing one's own musical language as well as interactive exchange within the group based on musical works with fixed structures and chord progressions. Through practical exercises, experimental approaches, and collaborative music-making, new musical ideas and constructions emerge. Own compositions and song ideas can be contributed and further developed.
Instruction takes place in individual and group sessions. At the end of the semester, the pieces and improvisations developed in the seminar are presented as part of the Musicclub.
The number of participants is limited to 25.
