The challenges posed by climate change for chronically ill people as a vulnerable group are considered from their own perspective as those affected. The intended learning outcomes for students lie in developing reflective competencies and judgment abilities to understand the complexities of environment and health and to develop perspectives for the future—both personally and for their future careers.

Course topics includes extreme weather events and chronic diseases, energy supply and crisis scenarios, food (in)security and chronic diseases as well as concepts of preparedness.

Prof. Dr. Daniela Schmitz
