Fasting has a long tradition that is deeply rooted in religious and cultural rituals. In the past, fasting served primarily for spiritual purification, penance, and preparation for important festivals such as Easter, for example during the Christian Lent period of 40 days. But Islam, Judaism, and Buddhism also know fasting practices with specific rules. There, abstinence is often strictly regulated and symbolizes inner reflection and discipline. Today, the meaning of fasting has expanded: it is understood not only spiritualy, but also as health-promoting and a conscious lifestyle element. It combines ancient rituals with modern scientific knowledge about metabolism, cell regeneration, and mental clarity. Thus, fasting is now used as a holistic path to greater well-being and balance. During the fasting week, students experience what opportunities fasting offers them personally and what role fasting plays in promoting health. NOTE: This course includes a period of fasting. Participants must be in good general health.

Objectives & Competences

During the fasting week, students learn about different methods of fasting.

Based on scientific studies, they gain an in-depth understanding of the mechanisms of fasting on the body, soul, and spirit (physical, emotional, mental). Through self-observation and reflection, they learn to consciously perceive and understand the processes of change that fasting brings about in themselves.

In the seminar, participants learn in theory and practice:

The influence of nutrition on health.

To understand regenerative processes for health through fasting.

To shape change processes in a self-effective way.

Maximum number of participants

12 participants
