Walk & Talk: Seminar and excursion to MANIFESTA 16 Ruhr
Manifesta is a travelling exhibition format that will be visiting the Ruhr region in the summer of 2026. Since 1996, different European cities have been the venues for this curatorial concept, which focuses on the social transformation of the respective host region. The basic idea is to open up unconventional exhibition venues and motivate citizens to get involved.
The 16th edition of this art biennial will be realised in the city association of Duisburg, Essen, Gelsenkirchen and Bochum. The focus is on the functional transformation of twelve vacant churches, in which artistic works will be shown and interdisciplinary projects carried out for the duration of Manifesta. The seminar participants will agree on a programme of visits and take the opportunity to experience what Manifesta has to offer on two Saturdays. The key question is: To what extent can the arts provide formative impulses for the sustainable shaping of social coexistence?
Please note that the times on the seminar days may vary because the opening hours of MANIFESTA have not yet been published.
